Seated measurements are one aspect of a proper fitting seating system.  However, basic seating and mobility concepts that can be used to provide improved comfort and function can make a significant difference when recommending complex rehabilitation technology (CRT).  This course will discuss these concepts and provide a foundation for improving outcomes.

Course Description:

Seated measurements are one aspect of a proper fitting seating system.  However, basic seating and mobility concepts that can be used to provide improved comfort and function can make a significant difference when recommending complex rehabilitation technology (CRT).  This course will discuss these concepts and provide a foundation for improving outcomes.

 

Course Objectives:

  1. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to articulate three general seating goals when recommending complex rehabilitation technology.  
  2. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to demonstrate three key measurements to take during the evaluation process.
  3. Following the course, the participant will compare and contrast three basic seating concepts to consider when recommending complex rehab technology
  4. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to justify three seating solutions that can be recommended to address postural asymmetries.

 

Target Audience:

Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Assistive Technology Professionals, and Complex Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers.

15  Minutes           Introduction/Complex Rehab Technology

60 Minutes            Seating Principles

30 Minutes            Putting It All Together/Clinical Considerations

15 Minutes            Review

 

Continuing Competency Information:

  • Number of credits earned - 2 hours or .2 CEUs
  • International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) approved.
  • ProCert, a program of the Federation of State Board of Physical Therapy (FSBPT), approved.
  • Ensuring approval with local state boards or other entities for CEUs is the responsibility of the individual. 
  • In order to earn the credits for this event participants must:
    • Complete the official registration.
    • Sign-in and out of the event.
    • Attend the entire event.
    • Complete and pass a posttest with a passing score of at least 80%.
