Navigating the Knowledge to Action Framework to Implement the Wheelchair Skills Program in Pediatric Rehabilitation
This course will outline methods for teaching manual wheelchair skills to children using storybook and poster formats that allows children to learn by observation, imitation, and play.
Paula Rushton is an Associate professor in the school of Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University with a research focus on measurement, intervention, knowledge translation, and education related to improving the wheeled mobility of children, adults, and older adults through an improved wheelchair service provision process. In this webinar, Dr. Rushton will review wheelchair techniques and demonstrate how children can increase wheelchair skills by providing an age appropriate methodology using stories, posters, and playful games enahncing their knowlege and skills.
